ALTEROPHILIA

Alterophilia is a love for the alternative - altero (from Latin - other), philia (from ancient Greek - love). Love of the other, the foreign, the different, the heterogeneous is a term that does not yet exist. Still, its meaning and messages spread in practice through the many subcultures, which are a fundamental principle for uniting people with similar interests, beliefs and values.

Alterophilia explores the youth subcultures in Bulgaria today through documentary portraits, interviews and surveys, focusing on the social context in which young people shape their identity.
